Biography / Case Maclaim

Case Maclaim, also known as Andreas von Chrzanowski, is one of the founding members of the renowned Ma’Claim Crew. His photorealist works embrace the power of movement through the depiction of hands. Many hands. His work is featured in the URBAN NATION 2018 exhibition, ‘UN-DERSTAND The Power of Art as a Social Architect’.

Case started painting in 1995 and has since then performed his art in over 20 countries, literally leaving his fingerprints in each of them through his paintings of hands. His artworks transport a strong visual message of movement and unity through overlays of hands in different positions; this movement is not just meant to be the depiction of physical body movement, but also political, societal action. Throughout his oeuvre, Case is creating a subliminal language understood by all, and after all, a hand gesture can tell much more than words ever could.
