With “The Ice Cream Man,” Berlin-based artist Jim Avignon has created a new ONE WALL in Falkenhagener Feld. A colorful, surreal world unfolds on the facade at Kraepelinweg 3. At the center stands an oversized ice cream figure, surrounded by numerous human, animal, and hybrid characters that interact with one another and bring the entire facade to life.
In the summer of 2026, the Omabunker expanded its Community Wall on Frobenstraße, which had been created back in 2025. The focus is on the residents themselves. They help shape the public space and make their presence visible.
With the Fresh A.I.R. (Artist-In-Residence) program, the Stiftung Berliner Leben awards grants to European artists who deal with socio-political and urban issues. The funding enables the scholarship recipients to absorb new inspiration during their stay and develop their artistic skills further while being integrated into Berlin’s cultural life. At the same time, the artists give Berlin residents insight into their perspectives and skills, during workshops and events.
