Hip hop superstar T.I looks set to be freed later this month after spending three full months at a halfway house following his release from prison in December 2009. The talented rap superstar famous for his slick rhymes, his cool rap songs and his even cooler rap & hip hop music videos had been instructed by the court to stay in a designated property in Atlanta, Georgia since December 2009 as part of the 366 day jail sentence that hip hop superstar T.I was handed after being convicted of illegally being in possession of weapons in 2007.
Now it seems T.I will be able to return home to his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and their two children on March 26th 2010.
T.I`s lawyer Steve Sadow said: “That date is correct. T.I is now serviing the remainder of his sentence in home confinement under the supervision of the U.S Bureau of Prisons.”
Hip hop star T.I was originally arrested for trying to buy machine guns and ammunition from an undercover cop as part of a sting involving one of his close associates Cortez “C-Rod” Thomas. And even though this crime carries a maximum 15 year jail term hip hop star T.I was sentenced to a year in prison plus an extended probation period after his release.
On the music front hip hop star T.I is all set to release his seventh studio album later this year. Previously entitled King Uncaged this new release will now be titled No Mercy and is set to have a December 2010 release date. Insiders have said that T.I will be heading straight into the recording studio to work on brand new songs with artists such as R&B sensation Chris Brown, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, Christina Aguilera, Drake and fellow rap superstar Kanye West.
