R&B star Akon seems in a really good place in life right now after spending the last few years working with some of the biggest names in Hip hop and R&B music including rap superstar Eminem, Snoop Dog and spending several months working with the late great King Of Pop Michael Jackson it seems that all his dreams have already been fulfilled. So whats next for the talented R&B singer? Word has it that he’s already recording his fourth studio album provisionally entitled Akonic for a 2011 release and Akon is very excited about his upcoming album too.
Akon said: “I am on a whole new level right now. My life is bright and you`ll hear it on the album”
The talented R&B singer and producer famous for his smooth R&B vocals and his stylish R&B music videos is rumored to be working with his protégé Lady Gaga and producer David Guetta on this upcoming disc. You can also expect cameos from rap stars Rick Ross and Drake too with most of the recording taking place in Miami.
The handsome R&B singer is also co-headlining Friday`s SOS Haitian relief concert with other stars including Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, Drake, Robin Thicke, Monica, Mary J Blige and rap star Lil Wayne.
Akon said about this upcoming gig: “It’s incredibly exciting that I am working with people I really admire. It’s a real blessing to be able to perform with these artists.”
R&B star Akon also talked about his pride at legendary music producer Quincy Jones personally calling him to invite him to take part in the recording of the new version of We Are The World.
Akon said: “It was incredible to receive a phone call from Quincy Jones inviting me to be part of the new We Are The World project. He`s a true legend and someone I really admire and this project is just incredible.”
R&B star Akon`s new album provisionally titled Akonic is set to be released in February 2011.
