Hip hop star Tinie Tempah is among the latest nominees for the prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Prize which is set to be announced later in the year. The talented rap star whose excellent single “Pass Out” with its excellent Hip hop music video took him to the top of the charts is including in the nominee`s list which also includes Adele, Katy B, Jon Hopkins, James Blake, Ghostpoet, Anna Calvi, Everything Everything, King Creosote and Gwilym Simcock.
The prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Prize is open to all music artists in the UK and Ireland who have released an album in the last twelve months and the lucky winner receives a lucrative £20,000 prize.
Tinie Tempah who is one of the favorites for this prestigious award has had a hugely successful year with his excellent debut album Disc-Overy topping the charts and spawning several hit singles & Hip hop music videos including the number one selling single “Pass Out”, Invincible” featuring US R&B star Kelly Rowland, his top 20 single in the US “Written In The Stars” featuring Eric Turner and his hugely infectious current single “Till I`m Gone” featuring US rap sensation Wiz Khalifa which features a stunning Hip hop music video.
Tinie Tempah was also awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello award songwriting for his single “Pass Out” in October 2010.
