Hip hop star Wiz Khalifa is an American born rap artist famous for his dazzling rhymes; cool rap songs and his incredible Wiz Khalifa music videos. Born Cameron Jibril Thomaz on September 8 1987 in Minot, North Dakota the young rap star grew up in Pittsburgh and had his first taste of fame at just sixteen when his contribution to a hip hop mixtape featuring local Pittsburgh rap artists found its way into the hands of Rostrum Records president Benjy Grinberg in 2004. Wiz Khalifa signed a contract straight away and spent the next seven years releasing a series of high profile mixtapes, rap singles & Wiz Khalifa music videos. The talented rap sensation released his debut album “Show And Prove” in 2006 and this highly anticipated disc led to Rolling Stone magazine labelling him “One to watch” in 2006. The album would spawn the hit Wiz Khalifa song & Wiz Khalifa music video "Pittsburgh Sound". In 2007 Wiz Khalifa signed with Warner Bros Records and released two high profile hip hop mixtapes; the excellent “Grow Season” hosted by DJ Green Lantern which was released on July 4 2007 and his second official release “Prince Of The City 2” which debuted on November 20 2007. Despite signing a long term contract with Warner Bros. Records Wiz Khalifa would later leave the label in 2009 after growing fustrated over the continuous delays in releasing his first album for the label “First Flight”. Wiz Khalifa released his sophomore album “Deal Or No Deal” through Rostrum Records on November 24 2009. This highly anticipated disc featured collaborations with long time collaborators Curren$y & Chevy Woods and would spawn the excellent Wiz Khalifa song & Wiz Khalifa music video “This Plane”. Despite only releasing one official single from this disc Wiz Khalifa`s sophomore album still managed to sell 5,900 copies in its first week of release. The album has since sold over 55,000 copies in the US alone. Wiz Khalifa`s music video for his single "This Plane" is still considered a classic by his fans. In 2010 Wiz Khalifa reportedly signed a lucrative recording contract with Atlantic Records. He released his next studio album “Rolling Papers” his major label debut on March 29 2011. This incredible disc featured high profile collaborations with Hip hop stars Curren$y, Too $hort & Chevy Woods and the considerable production talent of Stargate, Bei Maejor & Jim Jonsin amongst others. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard Album charts selling 197,000 copies in its first week of release and spawning the excellent Wiz Khalifa songs & Wiz Khalifa music videos “Black And Yellow” which would peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, “Roll Up”, “On My Level” & the excellent “No Sleep” which features another stunning Wiz Khalifa music video. Wiz Khalifa is also set to release more high profile singles & Wiz Khalifa music videos in 2012. Wiz Khalifa also spent a part of 2011 shooting his first big Hollywood movie with rap superstar Snoop Dogg in a movie called “Mac & Devin Go to High School”. The duo also entered the recording studio in the summer of 2011 to start work on the soundtrack to this movie too which features high profile collaborations with R&B star Bruno Mars, Curren$y, Juicy J & Mike Posner amongst others. The album`s first single & rap music video “Young, Wild & Free” was released on October 11 2011. The single sold 159,000 copies in its first week of release debuting at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The cool Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa music video for this single was also a huge success. The duo are also expected to release more high profile singles & rap music videos in the next few months. Wiz Khalifa is also rumored to be back in the studio working on his highly anticipated upcoming album and the follow up to his hugely successful “Rolling Papers” album from 2011.
