Akon is the multi award winning multi platinum selling recording artist who rose to prominence following the release of his first single “Locked Up” from his debut album “Trouble” which achieved top ten status in both the UK and the USA. Akon`s music video for this single also gained much airplay on the MTV networks. More singles were released and more great Akon music videos followed too including hits such as “Lonely” which became a massive number one in the UK, Germany and Australia. Akon`s second studio album “Konvicted” was released in November 2006 and it included collaborations with Eminem and Snoop Dog. The first single released was “Smack that” featuring Eminem this single was accompanied by another excellent Akon music video which featured a cameo from rap superstar Eminem and became a huge favourite on MTV. Other singles including the hugely infectious “I Wanna Love You” featuring rap superstar Snoop Dog topped the US charts for two weeks. This incredible single also featured a stunning Akon music video which became a smash on MTV. This album was another worldwide smash delivering multi platinum sales for this talented artist. The video features actor Eric Roberts as the police officer and also features cameos by Lil Fizz of B2K fame, Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs and Harmony and was another hit single of his excellent "Konvicted" album.
Akon`s third album “Freedom” was released in 2008 and it spawned four singles and more stylish Akon music videos. The four singles were “Right Now”, “I`m so paid” featuring Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy, “Beautiful” and the hugely infectious “We Don`t Care”. Once again all of the excellent Akon music videos gained massive airplay on the MTV networks and helped make Akon`s fourth studio album “Freedom” a huge success. Rumour has it that Akon is planning a new album provisionally entitled “Stadium Music” for 2012. This eagerly awaited disc is rumored to include several high profile collaborations with some of the biggest stars in Hip hop and R&B music. This stunning music video was shot on location in the Carribean and features Akon spending a fun filled day with his gorgeous girlfriend.
